Sister Miriam James, Extended Care Director
Sister Miriam James grew up in southwest Washington after her family's move from Texas. She graduated from Woodland High School and from the University of Nevada-Reno, where she earned a BA in Speech Communications. After graduating from college, Sr. Miriam heard God call her to become a nun and she spent time studying in New Mexico and Rome, Italy. She was then assigned to an Indian reservation in North Dakota, where she coached vollyball at a high school and served St. Louis Parish in Dunseith. In June of 2004, Sr. Miriam was assigned to St. Alphonsus Parish and is extremely happy to be at the school serving the children and is also excited to be back in Washington (thanks be to God! a true miracle!). Sr Miriam enjoys spending time with God, reading, web site work and playing vollyball when she can!
