St. Alphonsus Parish School Graduates

Over half apply to and are accepted to attend area Catholic high schools including Bishop Blanchet, Holy Names Academy, O’Dea, Archbishop Murphy and Seattle Prep.  The majority of students going on to public high school attend Ballard High School.

 

Standardized Testing

The Iowa Test of Basic Skills is administered for students in grade 3-8 in the spring.

 

Middle School Single Gender Core Classes

The core subjects are girl– and boy-only classes.

 

School History

Originally opened as Holy Angels Academy in 1907 serving primary through high school.  The school grew at such a rate that a new brick building was constructed in 1923 and opened as St. Alphonsus School.  By 1972 Holy Angels High School was forced to close.  St. Alphonsus continues today as a preschool through eighth grade school.

Volunteer Parent Hours

K-8 families: 30 hours per year.  Preschool-only families: 15 hours per year.
